Charles Goldblum, CFA, CFP®

Founder & Financial Strategist

Chuck advises individuals, business owners, and business sellers on tax planning, estate planning, budgeting, investing, and private company stock. As a planner and investor, he helps clients maximize outcomes and plan for the future they desire.

At the time of founding Hurley Capital in 2003, Chuck worked as an adviser to Emancipation Capital, a value-oriented hedge fund. Previously, Chuck researched enterprise software companies as an Equity Analyst at SG Cowen Securities, CIBC World Markets, and First Union Securities. Prior to that, Chuck was a metals trader for Trafigura AG, and Glencore AG in New York, Moscow, and Switzerland. Out of the office, Chuck enjoys exploring NYC with his wife and three girls as well as running and skiing.

A.J. Shoemaker, CFP®

Financial Advisor & Operations

Andrew (A.J.) Shoemaker has been in the financial services industry since 2015. He utilizes a holistic planning process to implement sophisticated techniques surrounding liquidity event planning, business sales, tax minimization and succession planning issues. In addition to being a Financial Advisor, A.J. is responsible for trade execution as well as day to day operations of the firm.  A.J. is a Los Angeles native now residing in New York City. He is a graduate of Fordham University’s Gabelli School of Business where he received his B.S. in Finance with a concentration in Alternative Investments. A.J. enjoys rugby, spending time at The New York Athletic Club, the arts, and supporting The Boy Scouts of America (Eagle Scout 2012).

Jessica Bruno

Director of Client Experience and Compliance

Jessica joined Hurley Capital in September 2007 and is our Director of Client Experience and ensures our clients receive the level of service and respect that they deserve. She also heads our compliance function and keeps our office running smoothly. Prior to Hurley, Jessica was a Registered Client Service Associate at Smith Barney (now Morgan Stanley). Prior to joining the industry, Jessica worked in sales at a fine art gallery in Utah. Jessica received a BA in Communications from Brigham Young University and enjoys playing the violin and using her fluent Spanish.
